I smiled, trying to keep my composure. “He called in and asked
for me by my real name.”
“So?”
I wanted to grab her by the throat. “When I’m at work, I go by
the name of Sam Black.”
“I thought your name was Sam Phillips?”
A stupid look appeared on my face too. “It is, that’s my real
name but I go by the name of Sam Black, here at work.”
“Well that’s confusing. Why don’t you just use your real
name?”
“I used to go by my real name and a debtor looked me up in the
phone book and showed up at my door step.”
She seemed slightly concerned. “Wow. Did anything bad happen?”
